After a period of dormancy, the Yorkshire & The Humber regional group had a successful relaunch meeting attended by 23 people on Tuesday 10 May 2016 hosted by West Yorkshire Combined Authority in Leeds. The event included four presentations about sustainable travel and transport activities in the region. The event page with further details and presentations can be found here.
Attendees would like to see future meetings organised with topics of interest to them; the networking element was viewed by participants as worthwhile but secondary to the presentation content. The list of participants was shared among the group in order to encourage ongoing collaboration. A second event will be held during European Mobility Week (16-22 September 2016) in Leeds.
For now, the contact for the region is Randall Ghent, Business Operations Manager, Act TravelWise, who is based near Beverley in East Yorkshire and can be reached on 0208 144 7366 or at email@example.com
A Regional Representative will be sought before or at the second meeting. Attendance of the first two regional meetings is not being limited to Act TravelWise members, but membership is strongly encouraged and may be required in future, in order to contribute to the financial sustainability of Act TravelWise.
