Yes, it's September already and TravelWise Week is just two weeks away! (Be sure to see our registration announcement in this issue.) We're kicking off the week with two webinars:
• Emergency Active Travel Fund: Plans and Implementation at Local Level, Monday 14 September, 2 pm
Many English local and combined authorities are busy implementing Emergency Active Travel Fund projects, and in our 14 September webinar we're bringing together some of the leaders in this area, including Brighton & Hove Council. We're also 'internationalising' the webinar with a presentation from Athens, Greece on their efforts to improve conditions for cycling and walking through the 'Grand Walk' project.
• Post-Covid Public Transport: Adaptations in Bus and Rail, Tuesday 15 September, 2 pm
Then on 15 September, we go into public transport mode (or rather, two modes), where our webinar will inform you of the latest developments and strategic direction in bus and rail in the post-covid context, including the marketing and communications questions.
Places are filling up quickly (capped at 100), but if they're sold out, join the waiting list. Members on the waiting list will be given places; others will still be sent the recording and presentation PDFs afterwards even if spaces don't free up.
If you're not already a member, we would really appreciate your support. We're offering a half price first year membership for local authorities as part of our 2020 membership drive. That's just £187.50! It's easy to join and you can do this by completing our Membership Form.
Note the job announcement in the sidebar: Sustainable Travel Plan Coordinator at Smarter Travel Ltd. The short application deadline is only tentative, so don't let that put you off applying.
Other plans are afoot! If you have ideas for webinars/web meetings or wish to lead one yourself, or if your company would like to sponsor one or more webinars or e-bulletins, please do get in touch. Thank you for reading!
