Welcome

Hello and welcome to our February e-bulletin.

We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events, such as our workshop on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) at Smarter Travel 2016 in Milton Keynes or our DfT Economic Appraisal Workshop on 23 March in Bristol. Both are featured in this e-bulletin.

All of our own events are free for members sending one delegate, and our partners' events have discounted rates, as part of our effort to ensure that membership is excellent value for money.

Please note that job postings in the e-bulletin are now found in the sidebar.

We encourage you to send in your news, job postings and event listings for future issues of the monthly e-bulletin. Just email them by the end of the month. This is a free service for members (£100 per item for non-members), reaching nearly 4,000 people. Also anyone may send in any email addresses that you'd like added to our e-bulletin distribution list, to info -at- acttravelwise.org.

Annual Conference and AGM Follow-Up

Nearly 100 delegates, presenters and exhibitors attended our Annual Conference and AGM on Thursday 28 January at the Camden Centre in London. Speakers included Robert Goodwill MP (Minister of State for Transport), Francesca Racioppi (World Health Organization), Philippe Crist (OECD) and Joe Irvin (Living Streets).

Our members and partners had an opportunity to showcase their work on the themes of 'active travel and health' and 'collaboration between local authorities and the private sector'. All of the presentations can now be found on the conference web page, linked from each presentation in the programme.

Annual Conf Jan2016 P1070061

The AGM elected two new Board members, Prea Duhra (ATOC) and Andy Winmill (WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff). There are still some Board roles available including the position of Chair, for members with a range of backgrounds willing to help us develop and grow the organisation. If interested, contact Randall Ghent at randall -at- acttravelwise.org or Rebecca Dengler at rebecca -at- acttravelwise.org.

We have had very positive feedback on the event and the suggestions received will be taken onboard for future events. Prospective hosts and sponsors for the next Annual Conference are encouraged to contact Randall Ghent on 0208 1447366 or randall -at- acttravelwise.org.
