Welcome

Hello and welcome to our August e-bulletin.

The autumn is shaping up to be a busy season, with several events already planned and others in the pipeline, including our Annual Conference in early December. Note however that the Sustainable Transport: Beyond 2015 conference on 8 September in London organised by Gov Today appears to be cancelled, as the company has unfortunately gone into liquidation.

We have just launched a Membership Drive to gain 30 new members by the end of the year. Well, 29, now that UCL Transport Insitute joined today. We hope to entice you with our range of member benefits (details below) and look forward to hearing from you soon.

European Mobility Week (16-22 September) is coming up quickly, and we again urge you to get involved and register your plans/participation via the European Mobility Week website.

If you are an Act TravelWise member, we encourage you to send in your news, job postings and event listings for future issues of the monthly e-bulletin. Just email them by the end of the month. This is a free service, reaching nearly 4,000 people. Also send in any email addresses that you'd like added to our e-bulletin distribution list.

All of our own events are free for members sending one delegate, and our partners' events have discounted rates, as part of our effort to ensure that membership is excellent value for money. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events, such as the DfT Economic Appraisal Workshop on 21 September in Manchester and the Creating Better Places for People event on 30 September in Birmingham. Check out our website, acttravelwise.org, for updates.
