Well done to the ten UK local authorities that participated in European Mobility Week 2014: Aberdeen, Bedford, Dunstable, Hackney, Lambeth, Liverpool, Luton, Nottingham, Southwark and Stoke-on-Trent!
The Week saw a wide range of positive activities, all celebrating the role sustainable travel can play in enhancing quality of life. Permanent measures implemented in the UK in conjunction with EMW 2014 include more cycling parking and car club bays, a borough-wide 20 mph zone, a new major segregated cycle path and a new car-restricted area.
Internationally 2,012 local authorities participated in European Mobility Week 2014. It is hoped there will be resources in place to boost UK participation in 2015.
