We proudly announce the opening of the call for papers for the 19th European Conference on Mobility Management - ECOMM 2015, which will take place in Utrecht, the Netherlands, from 20-22 May. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday 9 December 2014.
Well done to the ten UK local authorities that participated in European Mobility Week 2014: Aberdeen, Bedford, Dunstable, Hackney, Lambeth, Liverpool, Luton, Nottingham, Southwark and Stoke-on-Trent!
The Week saw a wide range of positive activities, all celebrating the role sustainable travel can play in enhancing quality of life. Permanent measures implemented in the UK in conjunction with EMW 2014 include more cycling parking and car club bays, a borough-wide 20 mph zone, a new major segregated cycle path and a new car-restricted area.
The European Commission's Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) Award was launched in 2012, successfully repeated in 2013 and will be presented the third time in 2014.
The aim of the award scheme is to encourage the adoption of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) by local authorities across Europe and to reward outstanding achievements in each year's SUMP thematic priority area. The deadline for applications is 3 November 2014.
Congratulations to Jean-Marc Poilpre from Essex and Jill Pollock from London for their winning entries in the Supermodals 2014 photo competition!
