Community Travel Advisor
Closes: 24 November 2008
Salary: £24,717 - £29,496
There’ll be plenty of variety and challenge, as you advise companies and other council officers on developing travel plans at over one hundred sites in Surrey, in order to get more people walking, cycling, car sharing and using public transport.
You will be responsible for monitoring travel plans that are already operating and will need to liaise with companies and other site occupiers to ensure compliance with agreed planning conditions.
Opportunities will arise for you to plan and deliver cycle parking improvements and support wider promotional activities, including the travel plan for our own staff and activities for safer travel for children and adults.
You could already be working in the transport or environment field, or may join us from a business or marketing role in another discipline. You will certainly be very customer- focused with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, in order to bring about lasting benefits and behaviour change.
We can offer flexible and family-friendly working arrangements such as flexi-time and home working by agreement.
An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure check will be required for this role.
For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Bronwen Fisher on 020 8541 8538.
Please quote job reference 045111/LR/6742.
Closing date: 24 November 2008.
Interview date: 1 December 2008.
Surrey County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Surrey County Council particularly welcomes applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
