The second meeting of the NHS Travel and Transport Managers' Forum will take place on Tuesday 12 July, 2 pm to 4 pm, at the offices of BuroHappold Engineering in London. There will be call-in facilities to enable remote participation from NHS employees around the country.
The first meeting on 12 April, which included representatives of six NHS Trusts, was aimed at gauging interest and potential for an ongoing Forum. There was general agreement on role of the Forum as a network to share knowledge on managing site-specific issues and also to work with central NHS on national travel policy.
It's still 'early days', but the Forum may also grow to take into account links with Public Health policy. There was also an early exchange of key issues faced by NHS sites. Those taking part agreed to send in copies of or links to useful travel planning guidance/information that they’ve used. These documents will be made available to Forum participants and possibly collated and updated. There was agreement to arrange a national workshop in Autumn 2016.
