‘Mobility as a Service’ (or MaaS for shorthand), one of the latest buzzwords in the transportation realm, promises a step change in the way in which people plan their journeys, make transport choices and pay for their travel. Whilst still in its early stages of development, MaaS has the potential to significantly disrupt traditional transportation service models.

Giles Perkins (Technical Director, WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff and Mouchel) a transport planner and expert in future transport technology, will share thinking around MaaS and emerging mobility models and  describe how technology and underlying digital connectivity might enable them. The session will consider what MaaS might mean for mobility and accessibility, the customer experience, network operations and services and, importantly, the implications for wider society and the economy. The session will be informal and interactive and is intended to provide attendees with food for thought in this rapidly developing area.

Attendees will learn about the global trends that are currently influencing transport, why such disruptors are so important for mobility, and what MaaS type solutions could mean for local transport authorities and our traditional public transport systems.
