ACT TravelWise National Autumn Conference - The Right to Travel...more for less - call for papers selected
Date: 2 - 3 December 2010
Location: All regions

The ACT TravelWise National Autumn conference will consider the impact of the CSR. Higher rail and bus fares and more infrequent routes, the cut in the Local Authority grant and the removal of the M4 bus lane are all unwelcome recent announcements. How does the Local Sustainable Travel Fund fit in?
The conference will address these issues and more.
The programme now features the seminars which have been selected from an industry wide call for papers.
The conference has attracted outstanding, thought provoking and inspiring keynote speakers including:
- Norman Baker MP - Parliamentary Secretary for State
- Eric Britton - Political Scientist and Sustainability Activist and founder of the Car Free Network
- Jonathon Porritt, Environmentalist and Writer
- Philip Darnton – Chair, Cycling England
The conference will make clear links between policy and delivery and will offer delegates the maximum time to network.
We are pleased to announce two important developments. The event is combining forces with the Merseyside TravelWise Transport conference and the British Chamber of Commerce.
Delegates from Mersey TravelWise Transport Conference, representing both the public and private sector, will be attending the event to network and share best practice.
ACT TravelWise conference delegates meanwhile will be attending the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce's prestigious black tie dinner, the most exclusive event of the year in the Liverpool business community. This provides delegates with a unique opportunity to network with senior management from the commercial sector.
We are also delighted to announce that Merseytravel will be hosting a drinks reception at The Beatles Story, Albert Dock for all ACT TravelWise delegates on Wednesday 1 December between 6pm & 8pm. Delegates attending the reception will also have an opportunity to tour the Beatles Story attraction. Visit www.beatlesstory.com for further information.
