Location: All regions

The world's largest sustainable travel event, The European Mobility Week September 16th to 22nd, focuses on health and mobility with "Travel Smarter, Live Better" as its catchy slogan in 2010. This year we are again working with the Europen Mobility Week to encourage members to run sustainable transport promotions between the 16th September to 22nd of September.
We invite members to let us know if you are planning an event, or if you need some support or ideas.
The benefits of active travel on health are well known, people who walk and cycle regularly are fitter, live longer, feel better, and with the cost of fuel once more on the rise, they even save money too.
Mobility Week is the perfect occasion to encourage people to give sustainable travel a try, and we are looking for Local Authorities, businesses, schools and universities, hospitals and NHS trusts, community groups and charities to join us in promoting smarter travel this September.
In 2009 more than 200 million people across Europe took part in Mobility Week in 2,181 European towns and cities, with worldwide events were held in countries including China, Columbia, Korea, India, Australia and the USA.
Participating cities also get the chance to win the coveted European Mobility Week Award presented in Brussels by the European Commissioner for the Environment.
In 2009 the city of Gavle in Sweden narrowly beat off competition from cities including The City of London. In 2010 we hope the winning local authority will be British.
