The Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport has this year established a Cycling Forum. The launch event will be held on March 17th at the Department for Transport’s headquarters.
CILT members and non-members are invited to attend this inaugural meeting.
Cycling is undergoing a renaissance in many towns and cities in the UK, perhaps leading the charge are the Cycling Towns and City which have received special funding from Cycling England to act as a demonstration of what can be achieved, and London, where cycling levels have boomed in recent years.
Phillip Darnton from Cycling England will explain to the Forum the quantitative results of Cycling England's first three years' investment in Cycling Demonstration Towns; Ben Plowden from TfL will explain how the London Cycling Revolution has been achieved and plans for the future.
These presentations will be followed by an opportunity to discuss the future role of the forum. How can CILT support transport and logistics professionals promote cycling? The draft terms of reference will be circulated to all registered delegates prior to the meeting.
Places are limited, and due to security issues only registered delegates will be admitted.
