About the Staff and Volunteers
Act TravelWise is largely run by volunteers, including the Board members and Regional Representatives. It has one full-time member of staff, in the post of Business Operations Manager.

Randall Ghent works as the full-time manager of Act TravelWise, including communications, events and projects. He has worked in the sustainable transport sector since 1993, with World Carfree Network, East Coast Mainline Company, Dales Integrated Transport Alliance, West Yorkshire Combined Authority (Metro) and others. Randall holds an MSc in Sustainable Transport from University of Leeds and also has multiple qualifications in project management. He is a member of Association for Project Management (APM) and Chartered Insitute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
Don has been engaged in sustainable transport issues since the very early 1970s at the dawn of the modern environmental movement. Following a career in mental health he graduated from Newcastle University in 2000 with an MSc in Transport Planning and Policy. Until autumn 2015, Don worked for Nestrans in Aberdeen promoting travel awareness and travel plans. He is now having a very active retirement.
Don served on the Act TravelWise Board from 2007 to 2015 and worked to raise the profile of Act TravelWise Scotland during that time.
