Debate Rules and Disclaimer
Rules for contribution of postings to the Debate provided by ACT.
We encourage individuals ('Users') who have registered on our website (www.act-uk.com) to contribute postings freely to the Debate section. Provided this is done in a reasonable manner and shows respect for all other Users. To ensure that both you and ACT TRAVELWISE are protected, we have developed a standard of conduct that is strictly enforced. These rules of conduct should be read in conjunction with our Site Disclaimer which contain important information regarding your rights and restrictions and our liability.
Postings submitted to the Debate may be removed or rejected entirely at our discretion without further comment whether or not such messages or comments breach these Rules. Postings should not contain any of the following:
1. Profanity or obscenities of any kind, even if disguised with asterisks.
2. Defamatory, obscene, indecent, lewd, pornographic, violent, abusive, insulting, threatening and harassing comments or messages.
3. Personal attacks or remarks on other Users or anyone else, whether or not relating to their postings.
4. Content the disclosure of which would constitute a breach of any right of privacy, obligation of confidentiality, contractual obligation or any legal or regulatory provision.
5. Content that impersonates other Users or public figures.
6. Subject as provided elsewhere on the website, advertising or marketing of any kind.
7. Third party copyright material (postings should use "links" rather than quote or copy from third party sources).
8. Oversized fonts, JavaScript, tables, headings or other advanced HTML commands. The use of emboldened, coloured or capital letters (except for punctuation purposes) shall not be used to emphasise your points.
ACT TRAVELWISE requires that postings should be submitted as follows:
1. Postings should only discuss issues relevant to Travel Planning and sustainable transport. ACT TRAVELWISE reserves the right to terminate or reinstate such issues under discussion. Contributions from overseas Users are welcome.
2. Postings should not exceed 200 words. Longer postings may be edited or rejected by ACT TRAVELWISE.
3. Comments or substantive replies to a posting should only be made after the entire posting has been considered and not emotionally or by taking words or phrases out of context.
4. Users should include their e-mail addresses at the end of their posting if they want to receive direct comments on their postings from other Users.
No User shall harvest or collect e-mail addresses from the Debate. If a User either directly or indirectly harvests the e-mail addresses of other Users for any purpose unrelated to contribution to the Debate, ACT TRAVELWISE may terminate that Users site registration to the Debate forthwith with no liability to ACT TRAVELWISE.
