Your role
Arranging transport for school pupils aged 14-19 in time for the new school year; you will focus on securing reliable and safe ways for young people to get to and from school - each offering value for money in line with the education transport policy.
The role will see you managing the behavior, warnings and banning process on mainstream transport in accordance with the Council's code of conduct. This will involve close liaison with the transport providers, schools, parents and pupils so that on-board regulations can be enforced by drivers. In addition, you will deputise for the mainstream transport senior co-ordinator.
Your profile
You will have significant experience of leading on school transport policy and will have developed a detailed understanding of eligibility processes, tendering and negotiating for contracted services and budget management.
Educated to A-level standard, you will be a confident speaker with clear ideas about the future of school transport for the area. Organised and flexible in your approach, you will be comfortable in front of a computer and more than happy dealing with a range of partners and individuals.
